Kamisama Kiss

Kamisama Kiss (Japanese: 神様はじめました Hepburn: Kamisama Hajimemashita?, lit. "Begin life as God") is a Japanese manga series by Julietta Suzuki and serialized by Hakusensha in the shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume. The series is licensed for regional release in North America by Viz Media as part of their Shojo Beat imprint. An anime adaptation has been produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Akitaro Daichi and began airing in October 2012. It has been streamed by Funimation Entertainment in North America. A second season was announced and premiered during January 2015.

  • PLOT
After Nanami's father runs away due to gambling debts and she is evicted from her apartment, Nanami meets a strange man named Mikage, who is afraid of dogs. She saves Mikage from a dog and tells him her story. He gives Nanami his house as a thank you for saving him. She accepts the offer because she is homeless. When Nanami arrives at Mikage's home, she is shocked to see that it is not a normal home but a shrine for worship. After that she is greeted by both Onikiri and Kotetsu who are the keepers of the shrine. She then meets Tomoe, Mikage's familiar, and she learns that Mikage used to be the Earth Deity of the shrine and has bestowed upon her his mark so that she may be the new deity. At first Nanami is reluctant, but as she lives with Tomoe, Onikiri and Kotetsu she begins to understand and works hard in her new position as the Earth Deity. As the story progresses Nanami finds herself falling in love with Tomoe, but he rejects her because the love between a human and a yokai is taboo. Despite saying that, Tomoe finds himself falling in love with her too.

  • Charaters

Nanami Momozono (桃園奈々生 Momozono Nanami?)
Voiced by: Suzuko Mimori (Japanese), Tia Ballard (English)
A teenage girl whose father ran out on her because of his gambling debts; she was often mocked for her poverty by her classmates. She becomes the local land god after Mikage transfers his position over to her. Nanami begins with very little spiritual power, but she works hard at balancing her godly duties with her schoolwork and eventually becomes adept at purification. Nanami becomes upset when Tomoe flirts with other women, which is often. Tomoe always puts shiitake mushrooms in Nanami's food even though he knows she hates them. Nanami falls in love with Tomoe, but she is rejected by him since it is taboo for a human and a yokai to fall in love.
Tomoe (巴衛?)
Voiced by: Shinnosuke Tachibana (Japanese), J. Michael Tatum (English)
A fox yokai who serves as the familiar of the land god. Several centuries ago, he was a wild and cruel fox who was the partner of the Demon King (Akura-ou), but occasionally took mercy on girls who showed spirit. He has a very cynical, often mocking demeanor, partly because he is distrustful of others, but he can be very charming when the occasion demands it. He is also extremely powerful, and is apparently able to disable other familiars and independent demons without much effort. However, his power is restricted by Nanami's words; if she orders him to do something, he must comply. He can transform himself and others with enchanted leaves. Tomoe worries a great deal about Nanami and is very aware of how delicate she is as a human, threatening anyone who harms or speaks ill of her. It is strongly emphasized that he was once in love with a human woman who was very sick named Yukiji; however, it is later revealed to be Nanami herself when time-traveling.
Mikage (ミカゲ?)
Voiced by: Akira Ishida (Japanese), Joel McDonald (English)
A mysterious man who was once the land god of the shrine, and who left 20 years ago for unspecified reasons. He met a newly homeless Nanami and bestowed the land god mark on her, saying that she was better suited to be the god than him. He has light hair and glasses and wears a trenchcoat and hat. Throughout the manga he is portrayed as someone shrouded in mystery on what his true motives really are, but it is hinted that his plan has been to show Tomoe that humans and yokai can fall in love and that Nanami may be the one who can reach Tomoe. Yet, it is not clear if this is his only reason for the circumstances and events he set in motion.

The Idolmaster

The Idolmaster (アイドルマスター Aidorumasutā?, officially stylized as THE iDOLM@STER) is a Japanese raising simulation and rhythm video game series created by Bandai Namco Games (formerly Namco). The series primarily centers on the career of a producer who works with a group of prospective pop idols at the talent agency 765 Production. Originally released as an arcade game in 2005, the franchise has grown to numerous ports, sequels and spin-offs across multiple video game consoles, including three social network games. The series includes a variety of other media such as anime, printed media, audio dramas and radio shows. Each installment of The Idolmaster has seen different levels of success, though the games and related media have earned over 10 billion yen as of 2013.

  • Plot

The central aspect of the plot for The Idolmaster deals with the training of prospective pop idols on their way to stardom. The main talent agency featured in the series is 765 Production (765 Pro), a rising studio located in a small office. Other studios include 876 Production (876 Pro), 961 Production (961 Pro), 346 Production (346 Pro) and 315 Production (315 Pro). At 765 Pro, there are initially 10 idols the player can choose: Haruka Amami, Chihaya Kisaragi, Yukiho Hagiwara, Yayoi Takatsuki, Ritsuko Akizuki, Azusa Miura, Iori Minase, Makoto Kikuchi, and Ami and Mami Futami (who work as a pair). Three additional idols later added to 765 Pro include: Miki Hoshii, Hibiki Ganaha and Takane Shijō.

A recurring theme in the series emphasizes the struggles an idol must go through to achieve stardom. This is indicated by the level of an idol's tension meter. Games in the series also explore relationships between characters, ranging from the relationship that develops between an idol and a producer, to the rivalry between idols and production studios.

Guilty Crown

Guilty Crown (ギルティクラウン Giruti Kuraun?) is a 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G which aired on Fuji TV's noitamina program block from October 2011. The story revolves around Shu Ouma, a high school boy who inadvertently obtains an ability called "The Power of the Kings" that enables him to draw out items called "Voids" from other people. He is then thrown into the conflict between a quasi-governmental organization known as the GHQ and a resistance group called Funeral Parlor which aims to restore Japan's independence from the GHQ. In the process, Shu has to deal with the burden his ability puts on his shoulders and the horrific mystery of his past. The series incorporates elements of numerous genres, mostly drawing from science fantasy.

Two manga adaptations were published by ASCII Media Works and Square Enix. A light novel was published by Nitroplus titled Guilty Crown: Princess of Deadpool in April 2012. A spin-off visual novel named Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas was also developed by Nitroplus which came bundled with a 15-minute original video animation (OVA) named Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas.

The series received mixed critical reaction. Critics praised the series' presentation but panned the plot for being jumbled and cliché. Meanwhile, certain character developments have been well received and the series' second half has been praised for its setting.

  • Plot

The story begins when high school student Shu Ouma encounters a wounded girl named Inori Yuzuriha, the vocalist of a popular internet group Egoist, taking refuge at his film club's workshop. The GHQ Anti Bodies storm the workshop and arrest her for involvement with the terrorist group Funeral Parlor. Shu follows the coordinates of Inori's robot to a drop zone where he meets Gai Tsutsugami, leader of Funeral Parlor, who asks him to safeguard a vial. As GHQ begins attacking the Ruppongi area looking for the vial, it shatters as Shu goes to rescue Inori when she becomes threatened by GHQ Endlave mechs. The vial contains the Void Genome, a powerful genetic weapon derived from the Apocalypse Virus that grants Shu the "Power of the Kings", an ability that allows his right hand to extract Voids, weapons of people's psyche given physical form. Shu then extracts Inori's Void and destroys the attacking Endlaves.

As events progress, Shu falls in love with Inori and reluctantly joins Funeral Parlor. During one operation, Inori is taken by a boy named Yuu, who possesses the second Void Genome. Shu's repressed memories return to him, revealing his sister Mana had been the first to be infected with the Apocalypse Virus and caused a massive explosion which spread the Apocalypse Virus across Japan: the Lost Christmas. Inori was created to hold Mana's soul to create a new race of humans after the Apocalypse Virus annihilates the current human population. Gai and Shu work together and Shu manages to stab Mana's stasis pod, knowingly killing Gai in the process.

Two weeks since the second outbreak of the Apocalypse Virus, the GHQ seals off the area surrounding Ruppongi in Tokyo, now called Loop 7, leaving a large number of teenagers to take refuge at Tennouzu High School along with Funeral Parlor members Shu, Inori, Ayase and Tsugumi. As food and Apocalypse Vaccine supplies run low, Shu is elected the new student council president and becomes a tyrant. Shu and the others eventually break out of Loop 7, though in the process a resurrected Gai appears and severs Shu's right arm, transferring the Void Genome to him.

Gai protects Japan from being destroyed by the United Nations in an attempt to stop of the Apocalypse Virus. The mastermind behind the events in Japan is an ancient organization known as "Daath" whose purpose was to obtain Shu's power and Inori. Inori later lets herself get captured by Daath in order to protect Shu. Haruka Ouma, Shu's adoptive mother, betrays the GHQ and steals the third Void Genome which Shu later injects himself with. As events progress, Gai intends to cause the Lost Christmas event on a global scale. The Funeral Parlor surround the GHQ Headquarters at Tokyo Bay and attack. The Apocalypse Virus begins spreading across the planet from the GHQ Tower.

Shu defeats Gai who explains that the only way to stop the Fourth Apocalypse was to let Mana fulfill her destiny of starting it, after which she would finally be able to rest in peace, which is why he aided Daath. Gai then dies with Mana as the Virus envelops them both. Shu embraces Inori and activates his Void, absorbing everyone's Voids and taking all of the Apocalypse Virus onto himself. As he is about to be consumed, Inori sacrifices her own life to the virus, saving Shu. With the virus finally eradicated, the GHQ Tower begins crumbling and everyone rushes to escape. Some years later, Ayase, Tsugumi, Yahiro, Kanon, Souta and a now blind Shu celebrate Hare's birthday in a rebuilt Tokyo.

However, on March 4, Mashima announced on his Twitter account that the anime would not end yet, and that reruns of the anime will begin airing on TV Tokyo under the title Fairy Tail Best! on April 4, 2013. On July 11, Mashima announced the green lighting of a sequel series of the anime. The new series premiered on TV Tokyo on April 5, 2014.

The series was originally licensed for an English language release in North America by Del Rey Manga, which began releasing the individual volumes on March 25, 2008 and ended its licensing with the 12th volume release in September 2010. In December 2010, Kodansha Comics USA took over North American release of the series. The Southeast Asian network Animax Asia aired an English-language version of the series for three seasons from 2010 to 2013. The anime has been licensed by Funimation for an English-language release in North America.

  • Plot
Seventeen-year-old wizard (魔導士 madōshi?) Lucy Heartfilia runs away from home to join Fairy Tail (妖精の尻尾(フェアリーテイル) Fearī Teiru?), a rambunctious wizards' guild famous in the kingdom of Fiore for its members' overly destructive antics. She is invited into the guild by Natsu Dragneel, a Dragon Slayer (滅竜魔導士(ドラゴンスレイヤー) Doragon Sureiyā?) wizard from Fairy Tail with the abilities of a dragon, who travels the land in search of his missing foster father, the dragon Igneel. Lucy forms a team with Natsu and his cat-like companion Happy, and are later joined by the ice wizard Gray Fullbuster and armored wizard Erza Scarlet. The five embark on various missions together, including the subjugation of illegal "dark" guilds and demons created by the ancient dark wizard Zeref. They also gain numerous allies from other guilds and lands, including Jellal Fernandez, Erza's childhood friend from the Tower of Heaven (楽園の塔 Rakuen no Tō?) who is initially brainwashed into trying to resurrect Zeref; Gajeel Redfox and Wendy Marvell, two Dragon Slayers whose dragon guardians vanished together with Igneel; Carla and Panther Lily, members of Happy's cat-like Exceed (エクシード Ekushīdo?) race from the parallel world of Edolas (エドラス Edorasu?); Juvia Lockser, an ameonna who falls in love with Gray; and Laxus Dreyar, a renegade Fairy Tail wizard and grandson of the guild's master Makarov.

During a promotional exam held on Fairy Tail's sacred ground of Sirius Island (天狼島 Tenrō-jima?), Natsu, Lucy, and several of their guildmates are drawn into conflict with the dark guild Grimoire Heart over Zeref, who has been living on the island. Although Grimoire Heart is defeated, the battle attracts the attention of the evil dragon king Acnologia, who assaults the island. However, the wizards are protected by the spirit of Fairy Tail's founding master Mavis Vermillion, who freezes them in time with her defensive spell. Seven years later, the missing wizards return to discover that their guild has become the weakest in the kingdom, but reclaim their status as the strongest guild in the Grand Magic Games (大魔闘演武 Dai Matō Enbu?) wizards' tournament. Fairy Tail also thwarts a plot to ravage the kingdom using dragons brought from the past through the time travel gate Eclipse (エクリプス Ekuripusu?), aided by Jellal's new guild Crime Sorcière (魔女の罪(クリムソルシエール) Kurimu Sorushiēru?) and Dragon Slayer duo Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney.

Later, Fairy Tail wages war with Tartaros, a dark guild of Zeref's demons who aim to revive their master, E.N.D. The battle is interrupted by the arrival of Acnologia, who attempts to obliterate both guilds. Before he can do so, Igneel and the other dragon guardians emerge from the Dragon Slayers' bodies, having hidden themselves within their children to ensure they do not become like Acnologia, a former human. The wizards and dragons prevent E.N.D.'s resurrection and stop Acnologia's attack. However, Igneel is killed by Acnologia and disappears with the other dragons, who have previously lost their souls to the dragon king. Makarov disbands Fairy Tail soon afterward while Natsu and Happy embark on a year-long journey to prepare to face Acnologia again and avenge Igneel's death.

Naruto

Naruto (ナルト?) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and dreams to become the Hokage, the ninja in his village who is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. The series is based on a one-shot manga by Kishimoto that was published in the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.

Naruto was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from the 43rd issue of 1999 to the 50th issue of 2014, with the chapters collected into seventy-two tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. The manga was later adapted into a television anime, which was produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex. It premiered across Japan on the terrestrial TV Tokyo and other TX Network stations on October 3, 2002. The first series lasted 220 episodes, while Naruto: Shippuden, a sequel to the original series, has been airing since February 15, 2007. In addition to the anime series, Studio Pierrot has developed ten movies and several original video animations. Other types of merchandise include light novels, video games, and trading cards developed by several companies.

Viz Media has licensed the manga and anime for North American production. Viz serialized Naruto in their digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, as well as publishing the individual volumes. The anime series began airing in the United States and Canada in 2005, and later in the United Kingdom and Australia in 2006 and 2007, respectively. The films, as well as most OVAs from the series, have also been released by Viz, with the first film premiering in cinemas. Naruto: Shippuden was first released by Viz in North America in September 2009, started broadcast on Disney XD in October of the same year and on Adult Swim's Toonami block in January 2014. Viz Media began streaming both series on their streaming service Neon Alley in December 2012.

As of September 2014, the manga has over 200 million copies in print, with over 130 million copies in Japan and the remaining 75 million being overseas, making it the third best-selling manga series in history. The manga is also available in 35 countries outside Japan. It has also become one of North American publisher Viz Media's best-selling manga series. Their English adaptation of the series has appeared in the USA Today Booklist several times and volume 7 won the Quill Award in 2006. Reviewers of the series have praised the balance between fighting and comedy scenes, as well as the characters' personalities, but have criticized it for using standard shōnen manga plot elements.

  • Plot

A powerful fox known as the Nine-Tails attacks the ninja village Konoha, killing many people. In response, the leader of Konoha – the Fourth Hokage – seals the fox inside his newborn son Naruto Uzumaki at the cost of his life. As a child, Naruto is isolated from the Konoha community, who regards him as if he was the Nine-Tails itself. A decree made by the current Kage, the Third Hokage, forbids anyone mentioning the attack of the Nine-Tails to anyone else. Twelve years later, renegade ninja Mizuki reveals Naruto the truth before being defeated by Naruto with the Shadow Clone Jutsu, earning the respect of teacher Iruka Umino. Shortly after, Naruto becomes a ninja and is assigned alongside Sasuke Uchiha, whom he often competes against, and Sakura Haruno, whom he has a crush on, to form a three-person team named Team 7 under an experienced and severe sensei, the elite ninja Kakashi Hatake. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7 is charged with completing missions requested by villagers, such as doing chores or being bodyguards.

After several missions, their most notably mission to the Land of Waves, Kakashi allows Team 7 to participate in a ninja exam in which they can advance to a higher rank, and thus, take part in more difficult missions. During the exams, Orochimaru, a top-wanted criminal, invades Konoha and kills the Third Hokage in an act of revenge. This forces one of the three legendary ninja, Jiraiya, to search with Naruto for Tsunade, who has been nominated to become the Fifth Hokage. During the search, it is revealed that Orochimaru desires to acquire Sasuke due to his powerful genetic heritage, the Sharingan. Believing Orochimaru will be able to give him the strength needed to kill his brother Itachi, who destroyed his clan, Sasuke eventually joins him after a humiliating defeat at his brother's hands. Tsunade sends a group of ninja including Naruto to retrieve Sasuke, but Naruto is unable to bring him back to the village. Naruto and Sakura do not give up on Sasuke, however, and the former leaves Konoha to train under Jiraiya's tutelage in order to prepare himself for the next time he encounters Sasuke, while the latter becomes Tsunade's apprentice.

Two and a half years later, Naruto returns from his training with Jiraiya, and the criminal organization called Akatsuki, from which Itachi is a member, starts kidnapping the hosts of the nine powerful "tailed beasts", including the Nine-Tails sealed inside of Naruto, to extract them from their bodies. Several ninjas from Konoha, including Team 7, fight against the Akatsuki members and search for their teammate Sasuke. Akatsuki is successful in capturing seven of those creatures whose hosts are killed in the process, except for Gaara, the host of the One-Tail whose life is saved in time by Naruto and his comrades. In the meantime, Sasuke betrays Orochimaru and faces Itachi to take revenge. After Itachi dies in battle, Sasuke learns from the Akatsuki founder Tobi that Itachi was ordered by Konoha's superiors to destroy his clan to prevent a coup d'état to which he accepted with the condition of allowing Sasuke to be spared. Saddened with this revelation, Sasuke joins forces with Akatsuki to kill Konoha's superiors who orchestrated the Uchihas' elimination and destroy Konoha to exact revenge. Meanwhile, as several Akatsuki members are defeated by the Konoha ninjas, their figurehead leader, Nagato, kills Jiraiya and destroys Konoha. However, Naruto defeats and redeems him, earning the village's respect and admiration as a result.

With Nagato's eventual death, Tobi, while disguised as one of Konoha's founding fathers Madara Uchiha, announces that he wants to obtain all nine of the "tailed beasts" in order to perform an illusion powerful enough to control all of humanity. The leaders of the five ninja villages refuse to aid him and instead join forces to confront Tobi and his allies. This results in a fourth ninja world war between the unified armies of the Five Great Countries (collectively known as the Allied Shinobi Forces) and Akatsuki's forces. Naruto, and Killer Bee, the host of the Eight-Tails, head for the battlefield refusing to sit back as instructed. During the conflict, it is revealed that Tobi is actually Obito Uchiha, Kakashi's former teammate who was thought to be dead, but he was saved by the real Madara and has been working with him ever since. As Sasuke learns the history of Konoha, including the circumstances that led to his clan's downfall, he decides to protect the village and rejoins Naruto and Sakura to stop Madara and Obito's plans, which unleash the Ten-Tails. However, after the Ten-Tails is defeated, Madara's body ends up possessed by Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, an ancient princess who intends to subdue all of mankind, and Obito sacrifices himself to help the reunited Team 7 stop her. Once Kaguya is sealed, Madara dies as well, but Sasuke takes advantage of the situation and takes control all the "tailed beasts" to realize his goal of ending the current village system. Naruto confronts Sasuke to resolve him, and after they almost kill each other in a fierce battle, Sasuke admits defeat and reforms. After the war, Kakashi is chosen to become the Sixth Hokage and pardons Sasuke of his crimes. Some years after the moon incident, Kakashi steps down and Naruto assumes his place, becoming the Seventh Hokage.

Bleach (ブリーチ Burīchi?) is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by Tite Kubo. The anime ran for a total of 366 episodes including 111 episodes of original material not based on the manga. Bleach was produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Noriyuki Abe. Bleach's Japanese and English voice actors include some of the most credited and well known voice actors, including Johnny Yong Bosch. The music was composed by Shirō Sagisu, who also composed the music for Neon Genesis Evangelion. A total of fifteen opening themes and thirty ending themes were used throughout the series, featuring a diverse group of Japanese artists.

Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper (死神 Shinigami?, literally, "Death God")—a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper—from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. His newfound powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife. The anime adaptation includes original storylines not found in the manga; including repeated appearances and stories containing these original characters. Studio Pierrot produced the series from 2004 to 2012, consisting of 366 episodes. Viz Media obtained foreign television and home video distribution rights to the Bleach anime on March 15, 2006. Cartoon Network's Adult Swim began airing Bleach in the United States on September 9, 2006. The series international release extends through dozens of countries in several languages including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Tagalog.

  • Plot
He anime adaptation of Bleach follows the story of the manga, although introducing several original storylines. In Karakura Town, Ichigo Kurosaki becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki cannot fulfill her duties after engaging in battle with a particularly powerful Hollow. He later discovers several of his friends and classmates are spiritually aware and have powers of their own: Uryū Ishida is a Quincy, Orihime Inoue possesses a group of protective spirits known as the Shun Shun Rikka, and Yasutora Sado ("Chad") has strength equal to the Hollows, later defined as being a Fullbringer. When Rukia is sentenced to death for her transgressions in the human world and taken back to the spirit world of Soul Society, Ichigo seeks out the assistance of Kisuke Urahara and Yoruichi Shihōin, unbeknownst to him as being two exiled Soul Reapers, to allow himself and his friends to save Rukia. After battling the many Soul Reapers, it is revealed that high-ranking Soul Reaper Sōsuke Aizen framed Rukia for the crime and has been illegally experimenting on Soul Reapers and Hollows and he plans on taking over Soul Society via use of the Hōgyoku. He escapes into Hueco Mundo, the realm of the Hollows, and later abducts Orihime as she is instrumental in creating the Oken, a power that will allow him to kill the Soul King, the ruler of Soul Society. After Ichigo is trained by the Visards, other exiled Soul Reapers who began exhibiting Hollow powers, he and his friends travel into Hueco Mundo to save Orihime, facing Aizen's army of Arrancars, Hollows given Soul Reaper abilities, who are led by an elite group of 10 known as the Èspadas. The Èspada are composed of ten Arrancar with exemplary strength. Members of the Espada are given a number 0-9.Each Espada has a tattoo with their number somewhere on them, such as Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, whose tattoo is on his lower back, and Coyote Starrk, whose tattoo is on the back of his left hand. Along with Sōsuke Aizen, Gin Ichimaru, and Kaname Tōsen, the Èspada as a group possess comparable strength to Soul Society's Gotei 13 Shinigami captains. After finally reaching Orihime, Aizen reveals her kidnapping was a distraction to allow him to take Karakura Town, as its spiritual energy is what is needed for the Oken. After training from his father Isshin, another exiled Soul Reaper, Ichigo and the Soul Reapers face off against Aizen, Soul Reapers who aligned with his cause, and his most powerful Èspadas, resulting in Aizen's surrender and Ichigo losing all his powers. Nearly two years later, Chad reveals to Ichigo that he has found people like him, known as Fullbringers, in a group known as Xcution. The Fullbringers can give up their powers to restore a Soul Reaper's powers and they plan on doing so for Ichigo, who begins to use Fullbring as well. However, it is all a ruse by their leader Kugo Ginjo, a Fullbring and former Substitute Soul Reaper, to steal Ichigo's powers to empower the rest of them. Ichigo ultimately has his Soul Reaper powers restored and defeats Ginjo and the other members of Xcution, and returns to his duty of protecting Karakura Town.

The stories original to the anime are often referred to as filler arcs to allow the manga to move forward.[weasel words] The first original arc is Bount arc, focusing on spiritually-aware humans who are immortal so long as they absorb souls. Their leader Jin Kariya seeks to destroy Soul Society for the constant hunting of the Bount, and he and Ichigo battle for the fate of Soul Society. Another storyline is the introduction of captain Shūsuke Amagai, the replacement for Gin Ichimaru after he joined Aizen in his betrayal. Amagai seeks revenge against Commander Yamamoto for the death of his father; and uses the Kasumiōji family's Bakkōtō weapons in his plans. Ichigo battles Amagai, who acknowledges the shame of his actions and commits suicide. The final original arc features the evil Zanpakutō Muramasa, which has the ability to turn itself and other Zanpakutō into spiritual beings to take revenge on Soul Society for imprisoning its master Kōga Kuchiki. After he is successful, he is double-crossed and transforms into a monstrous creature that Ichigo defeats, but not before Muramasa reveals the intention was to have Soul Reapers and Zanpakutō communicate on equal terms.

"Near-world people"?) start appearing from it, everyone is afraid of them because Earth's weapons don't work against them, but a mysterious group starts fighting off the Neighbors. They, the "Border" defense agency, create a defense system against the Neighbors. Since then, regardless of the Neighbors still emerging from the gates, people of Mikado City were living normally today. Four and a half years after the gate is opened for the first time, Yūma Kuga (空閑 遊真 Kuga Yūma?), a humanoid Neighbor, comes to Mikado City, where he meets Osamu Mikumo (三雲 修 Mikumo Osamu?), a Border agent.

  • Characters

Yūma Kuga (空閑 遊真 Kuga Yūma?)

Voiced by: Junko Minagawa (vomic), Tomo Muranaka (anime)
He has a laid back attitude, and isn't very knowledgeable of Japanese customs, leading him into confusions with the wrong people. When he was 11, he and his father Yūgo Kuga (空閑 有吾 Kuga Yūgo?) were on a war in the Neighbor world, lending their power to an old friend of his father. In an occasion where his father told him not to follow him, Yūma disobeyed his father, sneaking into battle, which caused his death. His father, finding his dying son, sacrificed his life to create a Black Trigger (黒(ブラック)トリガー Burakku Torigā?) to revive Yūma. His guardian, Replica, told him to go to the Human world and see if Border could find a cure to his condition (though he wanted to bring his father back instead), only to find out they didn't know the answer either. In chapter 33 he officially joined Border as an C-Class attacker in Mikumo Unit. As he explained, he's what they actually call a "Neighbor", and the creatures that have been attacking the human world are actually "Trion Soldiers", drones created to perform different tasks. He received the nickname "C-Class White Devil" (C級の白い悪魔 C-kyū no Shiroi Akuma?) due to his white hair and ferocity in battle. Despite his young appearance, he is 15 years old.

Osamu Mikumo (三雲 修 Mikumo Osamu?)
Voiced by: Ryōta Ōsaka (vomic), Yūki Kaji (anime)
A Border agent with low Trion level. He is usually referred as simply "Four Eyes" by people outside the Mikumo unit. He later promoted into B-Class Border and later became a Shooter and the leader of Mikumo Unit. He became Chika's protector after her older brother (and his tutor) disappeared mysteriously, and joined Border in order to be better able to protect her, but the examiner suggested him o become an Engineer or Operator, due to his low trion. Unable to accept this, he imprudently tried to infiltrate Border's headquarters and negotiate with them, but he was almost attacked by a Bamster, which was destroyed by Jin. He befriended Yūma after he was transferred to his school. He is 15 years old.

Chika Amatori (雨取 千佳 Amatori Chika?)
Voiced by: Nao Tamura (anime)
A girl with huge trion level, which "attracts" Trion Soldiers towards her. Her brother Rinji and friend were captured by the neighbor, and tired of running away and looking for a way to rescue them, she joins Border as a C-Class Sniper in Mikumo Unit. She purposely keeps herself away from others because she is afraid she'll cause them to be captured by Neighbors and she doesn't want to get hurt. She also has a side effect that allows her to feel the presence of Trion Soldiers and hide her presence from them. Izumi labeled her as "Tamakoma's Trion Monster" (玉狛のトリオン怪獣 (モンスター) Tamakoma no Torion Monsutā?), due to her huge amount of trion. She has short hair styled in a bowl cut, with an cowlick in the middle. She is 13 years old.

Replica (レプリカ Repurika?)
Voiced by: Yūichi Iguchi (vomic), Hideyuki Tanaka (anime)
Yūma's guardian, created by his father to protect Yūma and teach him right from wrong. He has information on various countries that Yūma and his father visited. He was the one who told Yūma to come to the human world. Replica told Osamu Yūma's story, and asked him to give Yūma a new goal.

Yūichi Jin (迅 悠一 Jin Yūichi?)
Voiced by: Toshiki Masuda (vomic), Yūichi Nakamura (anime)
Yūichi is an A-Class Solo Attacker (originally S-Class) at Border with precognitive powers. He is a very friendly and carefree person. He is a self-proclaimed "Talented Elite", but his skills and strategies in battle are more than enough to back up his overconfidence. His mother was killed by Neighbors but despite that, he doesn't hate Neighbors, as he has been to the Neighbor World and knows not all Neighbors are evil. He was the one who invited Yūma to join Border. Like Yūma's father, his mentor Sōichi Mogami (最上 宗一 Mogami Sōichi?) sacrificed his own life to create a Black Trigger, which Yūichi competed for, and later gave it away so that Yūma could officially join and be recognized as a Border agent by Headquarters. He is 19 years old.

Your Lie in April

Your Lie in April, known in Japan as Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (四月は君の嘘?, lit. April is Your Lie) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoshi Arakawa. An anime television series adaptation by A-1 Pictures started airing from October 2014 on Fuji TV's noitamina block.

  • Plot

Piano prodigy Kousei Arima dominated the competition and has become famous among child musicians. After his mother, who was also his instructor, died, he had a mental breakdown while performing at a piano recital at the age of eleven. As a result, he is no longer able to hear the sound of his piano even though his hearing is perfectly fine. Two years later, Kousei hasn't touched the piano and views the world in monotone, without any flair or color. He has resigned himself to living out his life with his good friends, Tsubaki and Watari, until, one day, a girl changes everything. Kaori Miyazono, a pretty, free-spirited violinist whose playing style reflects her personality, helps Kousei return to the music world and shows that it should be free and mold breaking unlike the structured and rigid style Kousei was used to.

Kaori met Kōsei when she requested Tsubaki to set her up with Watari. Kaori eventually convinces Kōsei to play the piano again, first as her accompanist and later in a piano competition. She has a medical condition that causes parts of her body to immobilize,  and takes heavy doses of medications and has frequent medical examinations.

Tsubaki is Kōsei's childhood friend and next-door neighbor, who treats him like a little brother. She is athletic and part of the softball club in school. At the moment she is dating her former senpai, but later realized her true feelings for Kousei, whom she truly loves. Tsubaki thinks music takes Kousei away from her, since Kousei told her that he would go to a school offering music course, probably it would be overseas or out of town.

Ryōta Watari (渡 亮太 Watari Ryōta?)
Voiced by: Ryōta Ōsaka
Ryōta is Kōsei and Tsubaki's childhood friend who is also the captain of the school's soccer team. He is extremely popular with girls, often adopting a frivolous attitude. However, he does once in a while come up with good insight.

Takeshi Aiza (相座 武士 Aiza Takeshi?)
Voiced by: Yūki Kaji
Takeshi is a pianist of the same year as Kōsei, who aimed to surpass him since watching him play at a young age. For that, Takeshi would even abandon a competition in Europe in order to compete with Kōsei.

Emi Igawa (井川 絵見 Igawa Emi?)
Voiced by: Saori Hayami
Emi is a pianist of the same year as Kōsei, who decided to become a pianist after listening to Kōsei play at the age of 5. Emi is very emotional and her piano performance often depends on her mood on that day.

Saki Arima (有馬 早希 Arima Saki?)
Voiced by: Mamiko Noto
Saki is Kōsei's strict mother who demands Kōsei play the piano to perfection, often beating him up for small mistakes. While she did not plan to make Kōsei a pianist at first, her realization of Kōsei's talents and her own illness made her decide to give Kōsei a strict foundation in piano in order to be able to find his own style, and a living, afterwards. She died before Kōsei's qualification to what supposedly was his first competition in Europe.

Hiroko Seto (瀬戸 紘子 Seto Hiroko?)
Voiced by: Mie Sonozaki

AKAME GA KILL

Akame ga Kill! (Japanese: アカメが斬る! Hepburn: Akame ga Kiru!?, literally meaning "Red-Eye Kill!") is a Japanese shōnen manga series written by Takahiro and illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro. It started serialization in Square Enix's Gangan Joker in March 2010. The story focuses on Tatsumi, a young villager who travels to the Capital to raise money for his home only to discover a strong corruption in the area. The assassin group Night Raid recruits the young man to help them in their fight against the Empire to end its corruption.

The series was licensed by Yen Press in June 2014. A prequel manga focused on Akame's backstory, Akame ga Kill! Zero, began serialization in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan in October 2013. An anime television series adaptation of the main series premiered in Japan in July 2014. This is the second work in the Japanese game developer MinatoSoft's Takahiro IV Project.

  • Plot

Tatsumi is a fighter who, accompanied by his two childhood friends, sets off to the Capital in search of a way to make money to assist his poverty-stricken village. After being separated from his friends, Tatsumi not only fails to enlist in the army, but is swindled out of all his money. He is then taken in by a noble family who offer him help, but intend to torture and kill him, just like they did with his friends and dozens of other people. Tatsumi is rescued by a group of assassins known as Night Raid, and is invited to join their ranks. Composed of the swordswoman Akame, a young woman armed with a huge pair of scissors named Sheele, the string manipulator Lubbock, the armored warrior Bulat, the sniper Mine, the beast fighter Leone and their leader Najenda, a former general of the imperial army. Night Raid is also part of the revolutionary forces assembled to overthrow Prime Minister Honest, who manipulates the young emperor for his and his men's personal gain, leading the rest of the nation to poverty and strife.

Each member of Night Raid carries one of the "Imperial Arms" (帝具 Teigu?), items created via alchemy and parts of the supernatural Danger Beasts over 900 years ago. Forty-eight of these items were created and about half of them have been lost to history. These items range from weapons like swords and firearms to more utilitarian items including a cosmetic box and armor, and even organic beings such as a shape-shifting dog and a powerful warrior. The Imperial Arms cannot be used by just anyone, as their users must be compatible with them or risk death. The power of most Imperial Arms is so overwhelming that it is said that when two Imperial Arm users fight each other, one is bound to die. Tatsumi and his new friends successfully assassinate some of Honest's most trusted cohorts, while losing Scheele and Bulat to the enemy forces, with Tatsumi inheriting Bulat's Imperial Arm. This leads the Prime Minister to enlist the help of General Esdeath, considered to be the most powerful fighter in the Empire, who assembles her own team of Imperial Arms-wielding assassins, the "Jaegars", to hunt down Night Raid, who gains two new members, the Human-like Imperial Arm Susanoo and the master of disguise Chelsea.

After Night Raid defeats most of the Jaegars while losing Chelsea and Susanoo and the revolution gains momentum, Honest forms a new secret police force, the "Wild Hunt", led by his own son, Syura. However, the Wild Hunt heavily abuses its authority by killing innocent civilians for fun, making enemies of both the Jaegars and Night Raid. After a confrontation between Wild Hunt and the Jaegers, with casualties from both sides, Esdeath is able to blackmail Honest into disbanding the rest of Wild Hunt while Syura is killed by Lubbock after he captures both him and Tatsumi. Lubbock is killed while attempting to escape, and Tatsumi is sentenced to death, but the remaining members of Night Raid attack the execution site to rescue him. They manage to escape but are pursued by Budo, the Empire's strongest general. Mine manages to kill him, giving the Revolutionary Army a huge advantage in the long run, but her Imperial Arms breaks and she falls into a vegetable-like state.
